Background:

A past client introduced me to a new client, forming this new client relationship. They inquired whether I wanted to form a new private-label partnership. Once the private label was formed, I proposed new design projects. I accepted the offer and joined the project. The National Steel Car 6400 and 6000 cubic foot gondolas were selected as the 1st candidate.

I worked with the project stakeholders to define their requirements, after which I completed the CAD models, drawings package, and other requirements.

The factory tooled the model, and samples were delivered for review. Revisions were made, and the final artwork was submitted to the factory for production. Run 1 of the project, which includes the 6400cuft model, was successfully delivered Q1 2023, and run 1.5, which includes the 6000cuft model, was successfully delivered Q4 2023. Run 2 of this product is scheduled for Q2 2025.

I am grateful to have been able to contribute to this project and am appreciative of the insight gained from this project. Among other lessons, I learned how to manage client and OEM demands while producing the deliverables per a predetermined timeline. This project later inspired other private label contracts involving the same factory, all of which are ongoing at this time.
